Adventures with M: Relish

If you’re wondering who M is, she’s one of my best buddies. Since she started working in Makati, we agreed to have these food adventures. You’ll definitely be seeing more of her as she is one of my companions in search for good restos to eat.

For some odd reason, the song “Cherish” by Madonna plays in my head whenever I think of this resto. Hmm…anyhoo, on to this restaurant. If you happen to pass by Valero Street and wondering what’s that resto in front of Seattle’s Best Coffee, that’s Relish. I think it’s only been open for some months now. It doesn’t look that appealing outside since they only have this small sign but when you go inside, the place looks really sleek and classy. They have this area with comfy couches with little light fixtures above (which M really liked). Even though the place is small, they’ve managed to maximize the space with room for people to move around. As I’ve said earlier, the decor of the place is classy yet simple.

The mirror on the wall makes the restaurant look bigger and brighter.

And now for the main event…the FOOD. I heard that the chicken is good so we opted to have that along with some pasta.

Relish Roasted Chicken w/garlic, lemon & oregano (PhP 390)

To be honest, this dish surprised me. I didn’t expect that I would be able to debone the chicken well and not experience the hassle of the whole process. It was roasted well which made the chicken moist on the inside. It’s good to eat even without the sauce. This was paired with mashed potatoes which are good too. There are still tidbits of potatoes which I really enjoyed. I really don’t like potatoes that are really mashed to the point that I won’t be able to chew anything.

Wild Mushroom w/Truffle Oil (P370)

This pasta wasn’t oily and has this hint of sweetness to it. I think that the truffle oil intended to bring out the flavor of the mushroom.

Cheesecake w/Cookie Dough (P180)

Okay…the cookie dough definitely caught my attention. But I was a bit disappointed as the cake was cold…almost making it as an ice cream cake than a cheesecake.

Chocolate Caramel Cake (P180)

This was M’s pick. I thought that this might be too sweet but the taste was just right. It was hot, moist, fluffy and kinda melts in one’s mouth

Overall, this gets 4 spoons out of 5 for me. 🙂
