I find their homey ambience relaxing and peaceful late in the afternoon as it allowed for a personable coffee experience. The inside of the café has limited seats but they do have ample seating outside (which is advisable for those in big groups).
What’s most amusing and peculiar about this place is their bathroom. If you’re a Doctor Who fan, you’d know that once you open that door, there’s absolutely no turning back. You’d be transported in time and in any place in the universe. Yes, the tardis has landed at Magnum Opus. Ha! Moving on…
And this is the drink that made my heart break: Belgian Heartbreak. I would liken this to a café mocha as this consisted of dark belgian chocolate and espresso. This was one good coffee that I had to stop myself from drinking it all.
I paired my cup with their NY Cheesecake. This was very dense. You could see how compact the cake is. Though I would have preferred for the crust to be a tad thicker, this was still a good pair to my coffee.
I really like the layers on this one. And you could see how the drink is almost spilling from the cup. My friend, who is a non-coffee drinker, had to stop herself from finishing this. It was that good. A big plus for this café for having a chilled version of their signature coffee.
So if you’re looking for a good place to have some alone time or chat with a few friends, I would definitely recommend this café. Get your hearts broken by their coffee concoctions, and sweet & savory treats.
