If you’re like me who’s blessed with a sweet tooth, then you’ll probably would want to meet the Lady M in Singapore. Graced with delicious cakes, my sweet tooth was ready to be sweetified (yes, this is a verb so yeah. Hihi). 😛
Overall, the place looks clean with all the white details and metal items in between. It really makes one focus more on the food. The place was quite open yet a bit secluded at this corner of this mall where this is located. For those craving for their cakes, they have this counter where you can have these sweet treats to go.
Before we had our sweet indulgence, we tried out a couple of their sandwiches and soups. Below were our chosen dishes.
This contains fresh Japanese tomatoes that were smoked in applewood chips. All the while, I thought it’ll just be the tomatoes and croutons but I was pleasantly surprised with the addition of some sausages. I liked how creamy this was, and a tad sweet yet retaining what a tomato soup should be.
This one was just okay. Yes, it contained much of the mushrooms but nothing stuck to me on this one.
On the other hand, this other mushroom-filled dish was good. It was grilled well despite of the bread looking more brown than usual. It was slightly sweet and savory.
This had the golden brown tinge that I was looking for in a panini, however, this was just okay.
Not a fan of earl grey tea (which I think this was based on) in general so this one didn’t sit well for me.
So the dishes didn’t fare well. To be honest, I find it to be pricey. But that wasn’t what we came here for. So let’s move on to the main event: THE CAKES. 😀
It still boggles my mind how they layered this. I mean, checkboard really?!? But they did, and it just looks lovely. I was very fond of the chocolate layer enveloping the cake because it was very silky, and wasn’t that sweet. The same goes with the rest of the slice. Very chocolatey that won’t make you instantly grab a glass of water. Yep, I wanted the taste to linger on. Ha! 😛
AH…the pièce de résistance: the Lady M® Mille Crêpes. It’s no wonder how this is famous worldwide. Just look at those layers! I mean, whhaaattt?!?! I could just stare at it all day long at its torched brown beauty. But no, I’d probably eat it. Once I took a bite, silky smooth goodness of a crepe! It really just slides down well with all those layers and cream in between. When you drop by, please do try this. It really is that good. 😀
When you think about it, everything was so simple from the interiors down to their dishes and cakes. Everything seemed so clean and perfect that made the place regal. The service was good too though we had a slight communication problem. Still, they were very attentive. One of the servers (or should I call them ladies?) probably noticed my reaction when we still had a missing dish, and rushed to us to ask if there was a problem. Talk about having a good eye right?
So many cakes, so little time. Yeah, quote me on that. Seriously, they still have a lot of cakes I wanna try out. But I’ll probably stick to the cakes than the dishes. That’s really the highlight of that night for me and my parents. Indeed, it was well worth the distance to meet the Lady M. 🙂
