Being back on this avenue reminded of the good old days of sleepless nights, coffee cups and endless chats. But at the same time, it was that feeling of being familiar with the unfamiliar. Back in the day, only a handful of establishments abound Katipunan avenue. But now, a lot has sprung since the year I graduated. And my only question was: why now?!? Haha. Yeah, kinda bitter on that. One establishment that caught my eye specialized in peanut butter concoctions. Time to get some peanut butter love!
Okay, I won’t lie. I’ve tried this out before but in their small Makati branch. But I never quite enjoyed my experience there as the space was really open. On the other hand, this one was closed and was quite spacious. It’s very clean, and apt for students who want to study paired with some good food.
For some reason, I always order this. I only had half (whole costs P135) as I was preparing for some big meal that day. As this is categorized under their “sweet sandwiches”, it was indeed quite sweet with some hints of green tea. For that added crunch, they’ve sprinkled some rice krispies inside. A good sweet sandwich that wasn’t too heavy on the creamy side.
Somehow, my friend raved about this, and I knew that I must try it. Now I know why she loves it. IT WAS SO GOOD. This is how a float should be: lots of ice cream, A&W Root Beer, and that big cup. The nice part about this is that you can control how you want it to taste as you have the liberty of pouring the softdrink in. Just look at that foam!
According to my friend, the peanut butter somehow overpowered the bacon. Or maybe the serving of the bacon was too little.
Had a taste of this, and it wasn’t that creamy. I was only able to slightly taste curry in this though.
This avenue is really booming. So many establishments that I have yet to explore! I really don’t mind the distance as it’s nice to go down memory lane again. And this was one stop that I’d probably go again. A good place to hang out with your buddies, reminisce about the good old days, and dream about the future. Now, would you care for some PB Co.? 🙂
