I was getting to the point of being hangry. Yes, angry and extremely hungry! My tummy was growling and I felt myself getting weaker with every step. Good thing this was a few walks away when I got that feeling. I then hurried to get me some of that Kettle! 😛
To calm my lion of a stomach that time, I tried this soup. I have always been fond of squash soup so whenever I see it on the menu, it’s a must that I order it. Instead of just giving the whole soup, they first placed the bowl with the shrimp salad in (yeah…sorry for the blurry photo! Haha). They then poured the squash soup. I asked why and the server said it was just for presentation purposes. Hehe. I did get to see the consistency that it was kinda thick. Upon first sip, it was. It wasn’t nearing on the creamy side as you could really taste the squash in every spoonful of it. I found its flavor to be bold and really solid. Good to have as a starter (especially if you’re hungry).
I was with my family that time and my dad went for their Clam Chowder. Served in a sourdough bread, it was okay though I would’ve wanted it to be a little more creamy. Once you get to the bottom, you could mix in some of the bread that makes it somehow thick in consistency.
I liked how they didn’t go crazy with the dressing on their Caesar Salad. Some restos really go overboard with the dressing that it masks the salad. But this one was really nice with a generous amount of freshly grated parmesan cheese. Veering away from the usual crouton cubes, theirs was slices of it which we just munched on and didn’t mix in with the rest. Hihi. But those slices were good for munching so yeah…haha. The salad had a nice fresh flavor topped with real bacon bits. This is good as a starter too.
I’ve been hearing rave reviews about their chicken and it’s no wonder why. It was GOOOODDD!!! It was very juicy and flavorful. The skin was crunchy and the spices on it were very spot on. It was good sans the country gravy and cajun honey but better with it. I preferred the country gravy more as it heightened the flavor of the chicken. On the other hand, if you want it to be a lil sweet, adding some cajun honey helps. Combining both sauces (which my mom did) just took the chicken to a new level of awesome flavor. It was weirdly good! Just devouring that chicken made me forget the cornbread that came with it! The paired bread was just okay. It was a little dry for me. But I guess that’s what makes it a good pair to the very juicy and delicious chicken. 😀
You see, I was really hungry that time. So I was glad that they served the food quickly despite the people that afternoon. Getting the bill though took some time as they had to do manual receipt that time. I think the server was down or something. Still, we were assisted very well by the people there. It is a little pricey though the food is good for sharing. And you’re assured of good food that’s not only prepared well but tastes great too. Good for family time, bonding with friends or casual dates, this Kettle will surely satisfy your hangry hungry tummies. 😉
