At first, I thought that they would be enclosed in a park but they were all around. And they were really friendly too. You could walk up to one and pat it on its head. Some would even bow at you. I had that moment with one of them, and I bowed back. Just seems right to return that very graceful bow 🙂
And these cookies will definitely have you running! Yes, they somehow chase people with these snacks. They just really love it! Just the smell of food or even paper, they would most probably try to get it from you. I had an encounter with one of them where it bit me. Yeah…I’ll never forget that moment. Just check out the kid below. Not sure what happened there but…
And that kid is traumatized. Hahaha. Just kidding. No harm done on the kid. I assure you, these animals are really friendly but yes, you still have to be careful because they do bite when they want food.
Aside from seeing and taking photos of these animals, we went to Todai-ji Temple. It’s amazing how they maintained this as this was built in the 700s. Talk about being really old and being really amazing. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this has the world’s largest bronze Buddha statue.
I was with a group of fellow hungry and curious folks so yeah, eating the snacks over there was a must. Plus, you wouldn’t be able to resist the aroma of some of the dishes there. 😀
