I liked how they displayed all their bread on the counter. Makes it easier for one to grab their pastries to go. We luckily got seats but upon stepping foot here, it smelled kinda funky. It was not the bakery type of smell but a different one that I really couldn’t pinpoint. I almost wanted to back out and so was one of my companions. We got immune minutes later. Haha.
We were supposed to get their cookielato along with this cake. But the former will take about 20 to 30 minutes. So we skipped that one and stuck with this instead. It was a good thing too as this was huge! The four of us shared this one and I don’t recall finishing it. It was moist and wasn’t that sweet despite its exterior. I liked the chocolate creme in between the layers. Its taste was very smooth. No wonder people get this.
Got their Flat White which was a bit milky for me. Well, that probably has to do with me not getting any coffee yet but I would’ve liked more of that espresso kick. Still, it was a good pair for our sweet treat that day.
I guess I went loco over the smell rather than the food and coffee. Haha. Not sure if it was just that day but it does effect the whole dining experience. Too bad because their food was pretty good. It’s proof of why people hang out outside for long talks. As for the service, it was just okay. There were few servers so they had to work double time to assist everyone. I wouldn’t say that I’ll be back as another coffee place was just nearby (equally packed too). But I probably would have their pastries to go.
