And I think I’ve found the one. Well, sandwich that is. I do enjoy the regular sub every now and then but I always find myself searching for more. Something that’s interesting and really packs on that flavor. And I do think I’ve found it here: Pepi Cubano.
Its location is a bit odd. You have to go around this corner to see its well-lit and welcoming doors. It wasn’t a problem though as people do flock here every now and then to grab some cubanos. I really liked the chill vibe of this place. Its interiors from the posters down to the vintage music players and photos were a nice touch. They have ample seating inside either for some solo cubano time or over talks with your buddies. The music was really on point too! Very Cuban 🙂
With the slow-roasted pork loin, ham, pickles and mustard, that was one good cubano! I liked the crunch and crisp of every bite from this sandwich. Not a big fan of pickles but the whole combination just worked.
To be honest, I liked this one better. Well, I like chorizo so I’m a bit biased here. Seriously, this was good too! With just the chorizo hamonado, chimichurri sauce and jalapeño peppers, this had me running for more bites. It was very flavorful and you get that extra heat from the peppers.
They use Kickstart 100% Premium Arabica coffee. And yes, it did give me that kick. I was supposed to pair this with their banana fritters but that one was sold out. But I must say, their coffee is a good pair to any of their sandwiches.
Yeah, it was love at first bite. I am seeing myself visiting this place and tasting all of their sandwiches. Haha. It is a bit pricey but the serving is big. Two could actually share one but if you’re hungry, one is enough. This place is great for quick bites as service is fast. Plus, you get warm, tasty and authentic cubanos. 😉
