The Ay-Chung Flour-Rice Noodle Experience

Having your accommodation in the heart of Ximending would give you no problems whatsoever. You’ll be part of the shopping action where you can grab discounts on sneakers or get the latest ones in fashion. There are lots of restos to choose from. Near our place was this noodle place that’s always packed with people. We made it a point to try it out and see what the buzz was all about.

They have few seats but no tables. Most of the people who order here eat it while standing up. They only serve one thing and that’s their noodles. So in terms of how fast they serve, it was really fast. Their process was very seamless that was brought on by practice since 1975.

It was warm, flavorful and very smooth. Since our accomm was just nearby (literally, walks away from this place), we ate it at the comforts of our temporary home. Aside from the silky noodles, this one had pork intestines and cilantro. It all meshed well and could easily fill one up. I just had the basic version but you could amp it up by either adding vinegar, chilli sauce or garlic. You could even add all those in! They have these additions at a little section inside their restaurant.

I cannot stress how much the weather was cold during the time we went here. I recently found out that we went here during its off-peak season. So yeah, we had to bear with the cold. Good thing this was near our place. For a few minutes, it comforted us with its warm, delicious and silky rice noodles.
