Feeling good at Chimara

More than just a neo-vegan cafe, this healthy resto now aims to make their diners feel good. Opening their reinvented restaurant at UP Town Center, time to check out this feel good kitchen.

Staying true to their white and green colors, I liked how clean and bright this place looked. There were a few cute details such as that happy moments wall that give it this casual vibe. This is perfect for those chill after school hangouts or after working out at the gym.

For their dishes, you can either have it “cold & fresh” or “hot & savory”. When you look at their menu, it might seem that it’s few but you could do multiple combinations. For their “cold & fresh”, you can have it either as a salad or as a wrap. And for their “hot & savory”, you can have it as a panini, with rice or as a pasta dish. I love how you can customize your meal to whatever level of hunger you have that day. If you’re confused as to what you want, their feel good specialists are always at bay to assist you. Talk about feeling good and eating good! Oh, and 1% of their proceeds goes to Centex which is a non-profit organization that provides quality education for disadvantaged families. Yeah, dining here will definitely make your heart feel good too. Now, let’s get on to the food. 🙂

I Am Wise (Large at P150)

They have juice infusions with very descriptive titles. I was suggested this, I Am Wise infusion, which was a mix of mango, apple and tomato. It has a mix too of their Alkaline Lemonade. Intended for clarity,  the mix was absolutely refreshing. It was one hot day despite some drizzle. This definitely cooled me off. Available in two sizes, lean and large, their large size is served in this carafe. Definitely good for sharing

Faux Beef Salpicao (On Rice at P180)

It might look like the main dish had small serving atop that brown rice. But it was just right. Made from soy, the beef was very tasty and tender of course. I couldn’t recall having faux beef but this gets a check from me. The taste was a little tangy. In terms of plating, it was nice with the tofu chips on the side. To be honest thought, I would have preferred if the tofu wasn’t in chip form.

Pepper Maple Chicken (As salad at P230)

I was supposed to try their dessert but the one I wanted wasn’t available that day. So…I had salad as my dessert. Haha. Though I was a bit full from my salpicao meal, I still had room for this very tasty salad. I loved the kick of that pepper maple dressing. You could taste the pepper with some sweet notes in between. All the components of this salad just worked to fill one up.

Free tofu chips! Yay!

Thank you Chimara for this invitation! Despite the travel from where I live to here, it was worth it for I really felt good with their dishes. Aside from being full from their delicious food, I felt light too at the same time knowing that I ate something healthy too. I’m really looking forward to the expansion of their reinvented concept (especially in Makati 😉 ).

So if you want to eat yummy dishes and be healthy at the same time, do drop by this feel good kitchen. 🙂

  1. Looks great! Can’t wait for everything to be applied to their Makati branch. This is new and I’m so excited to try some of these.
