And it was about time that I meet these fellas. It’s been awhile since their dishes have landed here yet I never got to try it. I never even got to try the one in New York. Not sure what all the buzz was about. It created this hype and long lines not just at this branch but at others too. Since I finally had time to go here, might as well try it. Now…my tummy’s grumbling. 😛
I would love to experience the original and food truck version. But that would have to wait. 🙂 Their first ever branch at SM Megamall used to have these long lines especially when it was new. You could just imagine the hype this got. Now, the hype seemed to have dwindled. Or maybe it was just the time that I got there. I was 2nd in line and was immediately served with my food. Talk about perfect timing! I just have to look for a seat now…hihihi. 😀
I had mine with some green peppers which costs an additional P25 (not included in the price above). I just wanted more veggies on my dish since I thought it would be heavy. Surprisingly, it wasn’t as small as the serving was perfect for me. I easily finished the whole thing up. I’m not surprised why people liked the white sauce so much. It really was flavorful and just enhances the dish. I did prefer the gyro over the chicken. It had this flavor that was peppery in a sense. As this was the recommended dish for newbies, I feel that I would be more adventurous in my next choices here. Maybe I’ll try some with a little more kick. 😉
It’s really good to have tried this one out. A new branch is opening near my hometown so it’ll be easier for me to grab their dishes. Well…until the hype dies down. I feel that with every new branch that they open, lines are expected to be long. No wonder as it did pique everyone not just with the buzz but with their dishes. I do find the dishes to be tad pricey but they do deliver in terms of taste and service.
