And being the rice girl that I am, I would suggest to have meals over rice. It’s just better that way. Lol. But seriously, the dishes here are good over their rice. A New York Halal inspired resto, it’s now time to check their offers. 🙂
The place was small though they do have a take-out counter. You will definitely get that mediterranean dish aroma upon exit. I guess the owners didn’t anticipate the crowd then as people do flock here. Though they’ve been open for only a month now, their food does show a lot of promise. The only brand under Chow Chaps Food Services, cousins Sonny Angelo O. Valencia and Emil G. Javier II partnered to start this venture. They tagged their friend Mark Lester D. Lodriga along for the food conceptualization. And thus, Over Rice was born. All their dishes are served fresh daily, and most are in-house. Situated in the busy avenue of Katipunan, let’s see what’s cooking in their kitchen. 😛
Up first was one of their specials called “Beef Over Fries”. They also have a chicken version of this for non-beef eaters. This was good as the beef was flavorful coupled with their white sauce. A good starter or snack to anyone dining here
They added something to make this refreshing drink stand out more. It’s one good palate cleanser or to just ease the hot weather off. A must-pair drink to their dishes here
And this was one filling meal! Imagine getting a flavorful and delicious meal for only PhP99?!?! It’s one steal price if you ask me! You can even get a double serving for PhP179 or barkada one for PhP349. Sulit and yummy! I liked the balance of pita and veggies on this. And that white sauce…just good. 😀 I tried adding some spicy sauce (yeah…the one with the funny caption) and boy did it add some heat! For me, the white sauce was enough.
One could also have this in beef. Rightly seasoned and perfect as a light lunch or merienda 🙂
I guess I can consider this as dessert? Haha. Though I prefer yogurt shakes to have that tangy taste, this was on the sweet side. Still, I liked it nonetheless.
So grateful to have been invited here and try out their dishes! Even though this is really far from where I live, I wish this could’ve been present during my college days. I imagine engorging myself in their dishes with my buddies. This is one good spot to hang out in after exams or just bond with your friends. For fans of Mediterranean dish, I’m sure this wouldn’t disappoint with their very affordable and delicious dishes. 🙂
