Braving the waters of Tanah Lot Temple

Ah…last stop here in Bali. We intentionally made this as the last as I heard the view here is just breathtaking. We also heard that the sunset is nice here too.

It’s a bit of walk before going to the actual temple. You would be passing by multiple shops and restaurants before you get there. As for the crowd turnout,  I was surprised that there were lots of locals and tourists. Not sure of what event was going on but it is a place of worship.

According to my friend’s research, the base of that huge rock has venomous snakes which guards the temple from evil spirits. There’s also a giant snake as an additional guard too. Sounds scary but it didn’t scare off those locals heading there. They were carrying these containers with their offerings as they braved the sea. I saw some tourists too heading there. As much as I wanted to see what was there, I was attracted more by the rocky shores on the side. From there, I was able to take more photos with that view above. Though we didn’t witness the sunset here, it was nice to just relax for a bit and take all of nature’s beauty in.
