Failing to Cafe Diem

cafe-diem-3The word “fail” connotes such negativity. The start of the day was smooth until it neared the end. We were supposed to dine at this restaurant serving authentic Indonesian dishes at a very reasonable price. But fear got the hold of us. We needed to pass this narrow street where only motorbikes are able to pass through. We skipped it and went to dine somewhere else. Walking along Legian, we were attracted by the nicely lit features of this restaurant.

cafe-diem-4This cafe is actually part of Kayun Hostel. It dedicated its section to this cafe where the elan was pretty nice. I liked the lights and overall feel of dining al fresco.

cafe-diem-sate-1I can never have too many sates in my life. But I’ll probably pass up on this. It was just okay. Well, it is relatively cheaper than the ones I had but still, it wasn’t quite there yet for me. I had hopes for their fried rice but I just found it to be bland. My friend, who was looking forward to try her chosenΒ dish, wasn’t impressed too.

cafe-diem-1The ambiance was good but the food was just so-so. Too bad we sort of ended our night here. So, we had to make other stops just to compensate for the lack of flavor. Or maybe…we should’ve been risk-takers that night. Hmm…
