Do you recall your History class? Do you remember discussing where the bones of let’s say, Lucy, originated? It always seemed to be exact when in fact, a lot of contentions are made at times. My professor was right. History is his story. And sometimes, we can never know the origin of who’s who or what. I’m so glad the case isn’t the same for this cafe where arguments over food are absent. It really was just a Single Origin.
The place was very casual that exudes this warm feel to it. As much as they serve good coffee, they also have an interesting line up of alcoholic drinks. I liked the touch of having those bottles on display. Oh, and the flowers on every table was a nice touch too.
I could hardly taste the truffle in those fries but they were good nonetheless. As for the chicken, it was good. I liked the flavor of the breading there. Really crispy and juicy on the inside. I was unsure of the paired ketchup though. Doesn’t seem right to dip that chicken in or even the fries. The salad was a nice addition to make this dish balanced.
And that was one hearty meal! Yep, very filling with those ribs, sunny side up eggs, salad and baked beans. This combination seemed like a classic. It’s something that’s very familiar and just heartwarming. The ribs were very tender and that tangy flavor just oozed in.
The flavor of this pasta was very mild. It might have been overpowered by the other two dishes that were flavorful. It was still a good pasta with a good truffle flavor on it.
And we got this dessert for free!!! My friend made a reservation via Booky which not only got us a free dessert (after answering a survey) but a discount too on the total bill. Yeah…this dessert definitely got sweeter! What made this dessert “hot” was the candied birds eye chili. Well, it only gave that very slight heat but overall, the cheesecake was good. It was of the dark chocolate kind so it wasn’t that sweet.
I was a bit snappy that day for the lack of my daily dose. And yeah…my friend got the end of my snappy deal (sorry!!!). But once I had this cup, I was all in happy mode. I cannot believe how good this was. I was wary of the orange being strong but its taste didn’t overpower the espresso. I even saw bits of orange pulps at the bottom of my cup. This indeed is a must-try at this cafe.
Whatever talks you may have whether it be origins or some good old catching up sesh, this is one of those good venues. It may be gearing towards being pricey but hey, the environment and dishes really make up for that. 😉
