A welcome night at Timbre @ The Substation

It was another short trip to this little red dot. And yes, this trip was meant for this concert. As much as I want to watch in my home country, getting tickets was just elusive. It was difficult to get tickets here too but maybe it was destiny. Maybe it was meant to be that I was able to watch their 1st ever concert for the year. Yeah…still on that concert hangover. 😀

I met up with one of my close friends here, and kind of had a late birthday celebration for her. It was the perfect place for such as the vibe was just chill and overall good. It had this lax vibe that makes for bonding time with your buddies all the more enjoyable. I liked that the place was open and had a backyard kinda feel.

Classic Caesar Salad

They had this deconstructed approach to their salad which makes for one good plating. But that’s all I can say about this starter. It was too creamy for me.

Chicken nibbles with chili kicap, cilantro and lime (S$ 12)

I was expecting this to be spicy but it didn’t pack much of that heat. It was of the bearable heat kind which was good. I couldn’t stop eating this as it had that good balance of flavor locked in.

The Half and Half (Goodfellas & Philly Cheesesteak) (S$ 22)

Honestly, it was hard choosing a pizza variant here. All the choices looked good! Good thing they have this half and half where you could opt for two pizza choices in one pie. We had their Goodfellas and Philly Cheesesteak. The former had prawns with a curry garlic butter base, cereal oats and mozzarella cheese. The flavor was a bit subdued but this may be because of our other choice. The flavor of their Philly Cheesesteak was a bit strong but in a very good way. It had sauteed sliced beef, Spanish onions, mushroom, pepper, orange cheddar and provolone cheese. It was a good combination that made for one really yummy pizza. My friend and I both preferred this though their Goodfellas was pretty good too.

What I loved about this place was the beats being played that night. Their in-house band was really playing it for the crowd that I had to take a quick vid of it.

‘Twas a good welcome night at this place. Despite having a little trouble finding it, it was all worth it for the food was good and the vibe was overall chill. So glad to have been welcomed by the good vibes at this place. 🙂
