Chairman Wang’s Art of Noodle Pulling

The rainy weather here is simply begging for some warm noodle soup. Just imagine slurping on a delicious bowl while the rain drops slowly on the street. The overall mood is set. And why not have it here at Chairman Wang’s Prime Beef Noodle House where you’ll experience that “century old art of noodle pulling”.

Yes, they pride themselves in providing their diners with freshly made noodles. You may even view how it is being prepared for they have a viewing area just for that. As for their interiors, it felt grand. I was surprised actually as I didn’t expect it as such. It had this golden feel that somehow transported me to ancient China. Aside from their main seats at its ground floor, their 2nd floor is just apt for those gatherings.

Shanghai Lily (P 150)

One of their signature drinks, this one was simply pretty. And yes, that is a flower right there on the drink! This one was a mixture of chrysanthemum tea, mango juice, soda water, lychee, pomelo, honey and mint leaves. An interesting combination that makes for one interesting and refreshing drink. It was a good palate cleanser to all the dishes we had that day.

Sauteed Spinach with Garlic (P 200)

This one tasted really simple and fresh which I liked. It wasn’t cloying that it matched our other flavorful dishes.

Sweet and Sour Chicken (P 280)

Believe it or not, there are lots of chicken pieces here. It just got lost in the plating. Veering from the usual fish variant, I liked how crispy and juicy the chicken was. Its sauce was rightly tangy too.

Chinese Sausage Fried Rice (P 280)

This was not at all greasy and simply flavorful. The Chinese Sausage adds that flavor to the dish yet not taking so much away from the fried rice. It’s still good for pairing with other dishes.

Braised Beef and Tendon Noodle Soup (P 300)

And for the main event: their noodles! It might seem oily based on the photo above but you have to mix it all in. Its taste was rich where the braised beef really shines through. As for the noodles, they really deserve that “prime” label. Overall, this was a really good noodle soup that would comfort anyone.
There are still many restos for me to explore over on this side. Admittedly, I got so comforted by other restos here that visiting others seemed to be out of the equation at times. But on that fateful day, this restaurant somehow had this magnetic pull. Good thing too as the dishes were just spot on. Their noodle soups are simply a must-try. Surely, diners would eat genuine and delicious hand-pulled noodles.
