Amidst books, there’s Dymocks Cafe

Isn’t it relaxing to be surrounded by books while sipping on a good cup of joe? You just leaf through your book of choice and get lost in whatever adventure it holds. And what makes that experience enthralling is when you have a good coffee on your side with a couple of snacks. At this Dymocks Cafe, that is very possible. 🙂

This cafe is tucked inside Dymocks Bookstore along George Street. My friend took me here where we got to chat after not seeing each other for years. You could just imagine my glee when I finally saw the place. It was very casual with  a couple of booths in. You could still see the books around and below which makes for an interesting coffee experience.

Scones with strawberry jam and double cream (A$5.9)

I couldn’t believe the size of this. At first, it looked like a pandesal which is a famous local bread in the Philippines. But the taste of course was very different. I could taste the butter on this one. It was quite soft but didn’t crumble. It was a good pair to the strawberry jam and double cream.

And this was one well-balanced coffee. It had the right amount of milk and espresso kick. It was definitely a good pair to our snack that time.

With some good coffee and snacks, it’s nice to cozy up with a good book. But it’s twice as nice for some good old chats with long time buddies. The ambiance really sets the mood for such that one would willingly lose their time. 🙂
