It has been sometime since I last visited Festival Mall. Yeah, I’m sort of a crowd avoider if there’s such a thing as that. But I was able to visit it a couple of times late last year, especially the new wing which I really liked. It looks so clean and new. Haha. Along that visit, my friend and I got hungry. And we stumbled upon this new yakitori joint that filled our tummies good. 🙂
The place had ample seating with a couple of seats outside. I bet it’s exciting to sit by the bar, and watch how they prepare the dishes. Before we dive into the dishes of the night, we were served with some complimentary anchovies. It had a slight burnt taste but was masked too by its sweet and spicy flavor.
We decided to pair our dishes with this rice which had some sauce and tempura flakes on it. It was topped with a poached egg. Overall taste was good and simple.
We saw this at a table before entering the resto. From afar, it looked like a takoyaki. And it attracted us to dine here. Haha. Sadly, it’s not a takoyaki. But the taste was pretty good. It tends to be a little salty as reviewed by my friend.
Being that it’s a yakitori place, it’s just right that we order yakitori of course. At that time, they had this deal where you can get 10 pieces of yakitori for only P550. I’d say that’s a pretty sweet deal! They call it the Tomodachi Set. The only downside is that you can’t choose the yakitori type. I wasn’t able to ask what were served to us but they were all grilled well. Some had this rubbery texture (probably the innards) but I liked how simple each stick was.
It’s nice to have this down south. They have a couple of branches all over Metro Manila. So if you happen to crave for some good yakitori, you might just stumble upon this one. 😉
