It was drizzling that day. During our stay in Taiwan, we always had to have our umbrellas. It wasn’t a complete downpour so there’s still that silver sunny lining. And speaking of sunny, it was about time to let the sunshine in by visiting Sunny Hills.
I had no idea going here. Normally, I would read up on reviews and such. Due to lack of time, I just placed this on the itinerary since everyone says that they have the best pineapple cake. At first, it had the facade of a cafe. It had a minimalist design with a very warm lighting. There were several seats and people too. I was scared we wouldn’t be able to get seats. We did get seats fast. But no menu. And I was like “why am I even sitting down?”. They then placed a cup of tea and a whole bar of pineapple cake. Yeah, a whole bar for free. Score! 😀
In terms of size, its bigger than the others but could still fit your palm. It had generous pineapple filling which went well with the pastry. It had the right sweetness and tartiness to it. I enjoyed every bite of that free serving. I loved how they served tea too as it was the perfect combo. Now, you can’t buy on a per piece basis. Either you buy the 10 pieces (NTD 420) or the 16 one (NTD 670). Yep, it’s quite expensive too. But it is of very good quality so we took home a box. 😛
Indeed, visiting this hill beat that rainy weather. It was all smiles (hello, free taste!) not only just with the freebie but also with their tasty cakes. Yeah, I wish to be back here. To have more of their cakes and beating that gloomy weather up. 😉
