Weighing in by the Pound

So glad that good restos are coming down here in the far south! I have been hearing good reviews about Pound. So, did it meet my expectations? Let’s weigh in on it. 😉

Their space was quite small yet it exudes this classy yet cozy feel. It veers away from the usual casual burger diners out there. But it’s Todd English so diners would be in for a real treat.

Crispy Goat Cheese Salad (P150)

It did have that tangy flavor bec. this salad had Raspberry Vinaigrette. I find the crispy goat cheese to be a good take though I wish there were more of it. I find the serving size to be small for its price.

Truffle Fries (P160)

I had high expectations for this. I was expecting to be wowed by the truffle taste in every potato fry. BUT I was disappointed. I don’t know if my tastebuds were failing me but I could hardly taste the truffle there. The ketchup was quite different but I’m the type to base a good meal without any additions.

Truffle Risotto Tater Tots (P75)

Now this tasted very much of truffle! I just had to order this one, and pray that I would taste the truffle there. And I did! I liked the paired sauce with this too for it had that truffle taste infused in. And how about the placing of that pound key in the sauce…very clever eh?

Bacon and Egg Sliders (P200)

Ain’t those sliders just cute? In terms of taste, it didn’t play cute for it had that nice flavor of the bacon in.

Backyard Cheeseburger (P280)

I loved how tender and flavorful the patty was. It’s no wonder why this is one of their bestsellers.

T.E. Crispy Chicken Burger (P225)

I only had bites of the former two dishes above. This was actually my order: T.E. Crispy Chicken Burger. Yes, my love for chicken dishes will never wane. Good thing too as this was just DELICIOUS! I would liken the sauce on the crispy chicken to that of a bbq one for it was both sweet and had a little kick. This one had cilantro aioli on the buns which gave it that nice balance of flavor. I would probably order this again at this burger joint. 😀

The hits definitely outweighed the misses here. Well, the misses were mostly starters. The main ones really shined through and through. I loved how their burgers and sliders didn’t mess with the flavors. They combined everything so well that it’s worth every peso in my opinion. I would honestly be back for another round of their T.E. Crispy Chicken Burger or have a full bite of that Backyard Cheeseburger. Hmm… 😛
