Nomi Matcha: Satisfying my matcha cravings

Not to brag or be super picky but I have been in constant search for a good matcha drink. Ever since visiting Japan, others fail in comparison. No matter how some say that it’s good, I still have a pretty high standard when it comes to that tea. There are a couple of good places here in the metro that serve good ones. And I wonder if Nomi Matcha will satisfy my matcha craving. Hmm…

I have been eyeing this resto ever since rumors of it spread around. I got excited over the sketch of its interiors. And true to that sketch, the actual interiors were just adorable. I would consider it to be very girly actually with all those pastel hues of green and pink. It still maintained that Japanese minimalist style for it was clean and simple too.

Super Mojo Shrimp (P330)

Fire Me Up Some Salmon (P350)

It was lunch hour that time so my friend and I decided to go for their Power Packed Bowls. I had their Fire Me Up Some Salmon while he had their Super Mojo Shrimp. His choice had Grilled Spiced Shrimp, Roasted Pumpkin, Cherry Tomato, Chickpeas and Bell Peppers. The shrimp had this sauce over it which added a nice taste to the dish. My bowl on the other hand had Torched Salmon, Cucumber, Grilled Asparagus and Roasted Carrots. I liked the simple taste of the seared salmon. The sesame seeds atop added to that smokey flavor. We opted for just their Japanese White Rice but you can with Organic Brown Rice (+ P50), Red or White Quinoa (+ P80) or Cauliflower Rice (+ P80). It makes the bowl healthy and will make you feeling full. But with that said, I do find that the bowls are expensive. The taste was simple and fresh but I know that with the price of my bowl alone, I could grab an even healthier one at another restaurant. Serving size was just okay too and good for one.

Legendary Greenies (P90)

And this is their version of a brownie but a matcha one! This is served a bit warm which I really liked. The brownie itself was quite dense, and you could taste the richness of the matcha in.

Tea-ramisu Dream (P180)

Can I have more of this please! That was a demand, and not even a question. Haha. I liked the gentle taste of the matcha here. It was very creamy and soft too. I preferred this one over their brownie just because this had a lighter taste.

Iced Matcha Latte (P160)

If you nomi, then you’d know that I prefer hot drinks over cold ones. Oh, see what I did there? πŸ˜‰ Anyway, I decided to go for a cold one for it was very hot that day. I needed to cool myself off. You could customize the sweetness of this drink. I had mine at one of the lowest level so as to get a better taste of the tea. I liked the earthy taste of the matcha here. It was very smooth and refreshing. Still, I’d probably go for their hot ones as I find to get a better taste of the tea there. Maybe next time πŸ™‚

And this visit was yet another mix of hits and misses. I do recommend to have this as your dessert go to place, especially if you like matcha. Not sure about their other meals but I just find it to be pricey. Plus, there are lots of good restos in the area. But if you must have a massive craving for matcha, make this your stop. Enjoy the interiors and satisfy your match craving here. πŸ™‚
