2nd solo session at The Wholesome Table

And I found myself dining solo again. I treasure moments like these. Moments where I can be one with my thoughts, and just get to reflect on stuff. Was The Wholesome Table a good choice then?

I wasn’t able to take a photo of the whole place. I really would have liked too but first, I got shy and second, there were just so many diners. I came there during lunch hour on a Friday. I was surprised by the number of diners that time. Most were there to just bond or have a quick lunch (like me). The interiors were very nice though. It had this rustic feel to it.

Lemonade Kombucha (P200)

It was very hot that day, and I needed something to refresh me. I was planning on having one of their other fruit drinks but this caught my eye. It was part of their summer menu. And I wanted to try Kombucha. This was very refreshing for me. It had that tanginess of the lemon yet balanced out by the kombucha and raw honey mixed in.

Thai Rice Bowl (P270)

I needed a dish to power me throughout the day. And what better way to do it than by having their power bowls. I opted for their Thai Rice Bowl which had vegan bagoong brown rice, pandan tofu, green mango, tomatoes, scrambled egg, spring onion, cilantro and peanuts. And let me tell you, I was full to the brim! Just a mini blooper on this. I thought the whole time that I ordered chicken. It turns out that it was pandan tofu. Hehehe. In terms of taste, the pandan tofu was very simple. The taste of the pandan was very subtle in it. It did blend nicely with the rest of the components of the dish. I loved every bite of it, and would probably have more of this or the other dishes in the future. 🙂

Even though I enjoyed the food that I had, I do find this restaurant best to be with some friends. There was another solo diner too but for me, it was just too busy. The servers weren’t able to attend to every table. Maybe it was the hour of my visit where finding a good resto to be calm (in a way) is hard. Still, the food was good and yes, very healthy. It does gear on being pricey but I know that it’s good quality food.
