So how come this is only the world’s 2nd best melonpan? This question would wander over my head ever since I saw this on Instagram. With this explanation, it gave much clarity to that question. Plus, it goes to show how respectful the Japanese are.
Their space in Eastwood was quite small. It has limited seats so it’s best to take one’s snack out. They did utilise the space really well by adding those cute interiors.
One serving was huge! No wonder they are starting to offer the minipans which is perfect for kids. At first, I didn’t know how to eat it. Do I take one huge bite or take a bit of the ice cream then bread after? I did the former. Haha. I still did get to taste the matcha ice cream and melonpan. Sadly, the matcha taste wasn’t strong enough for me. I could taste only hints of it. As for the bread, it was very flavorful and packed. It did taste well with the ice cream inside. I love how I could take a bite of those cookie bits atop.
I took home a box for my parents to taste it. I wanted to taste how the bread fared without the ice cream. It was very flavorful. I would recommend having it with some coffee so as not to be overwhelmed with the flavor.
Now I’m thinking if I should’ve tried the vanilla flavor instead. That was one of my choices back then. Not sure how the chocolate and strawberry fared but the matcha would be a pass for me. Or maybe I can opt for their melonpan and coffee combo. I just hope they open more branches (down south please!) so that I could try their other offers. 🙂
